I made an additional one-time on-line principal payment on my loan in mid November. It was not credited to my account until the 10th of December when my automatic payment was withdrawn (they said something about not being able to credit it because I still had a payment that was owed on this loan - the next payment wasn't due until Dec 1). When I called today (on the advice of my credit union) to see if the additional payment could be applied to the actual date it was received now that they've gotten their December payment, they couldn't do this". I have another mortgage loan through green tree (http://www/.
consumeraffairs?.com/
finance/greentree".htm) which actually seems to be a worse servicing company than Seterus'. What I've learned from reading their complaints is that when you choose an automatic payment between the
due date (1st) and the end of the grace period (15th), you will be paying interest at the end of your loan for these days|. If you pay interest for payments made after the 1st, you should also get credit for extra principal payments made before the 1st". Seterus will not do this|. The only way you can guarantee that any extra principal payments will actually be credited on the date paid is to have additional principal payments taken with your automatic payment. 1282f82
